Judicial Watch sues for docs on Gruber’s sole-source Obamacare contract
This week, Judicial Watch announced it filed a FOIA lawsuit against the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) regarding Jonathan Gruber’s sole-source consulting contract with it for the purposes of developing Obamacare. Gruber is an MIT economics professor and thus was sought for advice on how to craft Obamacare. He capitalized on “the stupidity of the American voter” and the “lack of transparency” associated with the passage and implementation of Obamacare as well. This lawsuit regarding Gruber’s contract, which was $400,000, comes as a response to unanswered FOIA requests Judicial Watch filed against the department previously. Judicial Watch’s president Tom Fitton also offered commentary on this lawsuit to Washington Examiner:
“From its inception, its passage, its implementation, and its enforcement, ‘lack of transparency’ has been essential to keeping Obamacare alive. President Obama’s knowing lies about how Americans could keep their doctors and insurance under Obamacare show that he is no better than Gruber in his contempt for ‘stupid’ American voters,” Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton said in announcing the suit.
