Docs: Ahead of 2012 Presidential Election Lois Lerner Begged Supervisor Not to Visit IRS Office
JANUARY 20, 2015
In a Townhall.com article, which was cross-posted to Fox Nation, Katie Pavlich discusses the latest emails Judicial Watch obtained regarding the IRS scandal through a FOIA lawsuit. These emails reveal that Lois Lerner prevented her supervisor from visiting the IRS Cincinnati office. Lerner intentionally did this before the 2012 presidential election to cover up her involvement in the IRS political targeting scandal. In May 2013, Lerner admitted to being involved in the targeting scandal in front of the House Oversight Committee at a hearing. Read more about this discovery from Judicial Watch here.
Below is one of Lerner’s emails obtained from Judicial Watch’s FOIA lawsuit against the IRS, as shown in the article:
“We just gor an very extensive information request from Imraan [Imraan Khakoo, TE/GE official] –sure looks like op review material. I’m especially concerned that information about pipeline is being asked about … Add to that the fact tha cincinnati is smack dab in the middle of the c4 Congressional inqueries and is about to get a request from TIGTA on all of that, this is NOT a good time to be asking them for anything or to be talking to them about issue in their work. Everyone is stressed to the max and at their wits end, so can we put this off please?”
