Six Years in, Obama Finally Focuses on ‘Countering Violent Extremism’
FEBRUARY 24, 2015
Leaders of 60 countries participated in President Obama’s “Summit on Countering Violent Extremism” last week. However, this summit does not remedy President Obama’s lack of action on national security. President Obama’s 2011 “National Strategy for Counterterrorism,” recent call for economic development in the Arab world, and reluctance to denounce radical Islam all support that truth. Judicial Watch recently obtained documents from the Pentagon that further expose how the Obama administration lied to the American people about the cause of the 2012 Benghazi terrorist attack. Read more about those documents here.
Helle Dale, who wrote this article, explains what the Obama administration should do to counter this threat from the Middle East:
In support of a hard power strategy, an aggressive long-term public diplomacy campaign is needed as well—on social media, in broadcasting and indeed in forceful condemnation of terrorism by national leaders—as we have seen from leaders of other nations that have suffered recent attacks.
