State Department to Be Slammed With FOIA Lawsuits
MARCH 10, 2015
Last week, Judicial Watch filed a new FOIA lawsuit against the State Department asking for communications between former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Clinton’s former top aide Huma Abedin, and former Egyptian president Mohammad Morsi’s wife Nagla Mahmoud. As Hillary Clinton’s email scandal continues to unfold, Judicial Watch’s FOIA requests and lawsuits have been impacted. As a result, Judicial Watch could re-litigate 10 previous FOIA lawsuits it filed against the State Department regarding Clinton’s documents. Read more about this new FOIA lawsuit from Judicial Watch here.
Judicial Watch’s president Tom Fitton elaborated on how Clinton’s scandal has impact JW’s pending FOIA litigation, which can be found in this article as well:
“The universe of legal cases that could have been impacted, we can’t even begin to know right now,” Fitton said. “In our little FOIA universe we can find 20. Given how much litigation State was involved in every year that required them to search Clinton’s email account, I can’t fathom the number of cases that have been impacted by this.”
