On July 14, 2009, Judicial Watch filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to force the agency's compliance with a FOIA request filed on May 18, 2009 seeking to obtain records from the Office of former Vice President Cheney related to CIA interrogation techniques.
Judicial Watch was successful in getting the government to release several documents and the case will be dismissed following the government's payment of litigation fees.
