Judge Lets Convicted Terrorist Go To Disney World

A federal judge has lifted the restrictive bail conditions of a Hamas commander caught with $100,000 cash to support the extremist Palestinian organization so that he could take an out-of-state family vacation to Disney World.

The Chicago grocer, Muhammad Salah, is an open supporter of Palestinian terrorists and was convicted earlier this year for obstruction when he lied about it. He helped funnel hundreds of thousands of dollars to militant groups in the West Bank and Gaza and served five years in an Israeli prison after getting caught with $100,000 cash intended for Palestinian terrorists. Salah has also admitted that he was once a Hamas commander and federal investigations have documented his decades long material support of terrorist organizations.

Although he is a terrorist recently convicted of a felony, U.S. District Judge Amy St. Eve has allowed Salah to shed his tracking bracelet so that he could travel to Disneyworld in Orlando Florida later this month. Outraged federal prosecutors say the terrorist may flee, but Judge St. Eve, who was appointed to the federal bench George W. Bush in 2002, said: “I’m confident that he will come back.”

Long considered a flight risk and a designated terrorist by the U.S. government, Salah has for years been under house arrest with an electronic monitoring bracelet. He is scheduled to be sentenced sometime this summer and has many loyal allies in the Middle East. At the hearing in which the judge approved his out-of-state vacation, Salah smiled and bragged that he got to take off his tracking device.

Mouse pad, a web site dedicated to Disney lovers, points out that someone who raised money for a terrorist group that blows things up should not get to go to a high-profile American icon. It sarcastically goes on: “Hey Muhammad, you’ve just killed dozens of innocent people and waged jihad on the free world. What are you going to do now? I’m going to Disneyworld!”
