Clinton Lawyer, State Department Move to Prevent Deposition in Emails Suit

The Wall Street Journal:

In response to a civil lawsuit against the State Department brought by Judicial Watch, lawyers for the State Department and Mrs. Clinton filed separate briefs asking a judge to reject a proposed deposition of Mrs. Clinton.

The Judicial Watch lawsuit concerns access to government records from Mrs. Clinton’s time in office, but does not name her as a defendant. The group has already conducted a number of interviews with top State Department officials and aides to Mrs. Clinton but argued that it also needs testimony from the former secretary of state in order to determine why and how her personal email server was created.
