(S//NF) The following chronology based compilation communications between the
Diplomatic Security Command Center (DSCC) and U.S. personnel Benghazi, Libya. DS/TIA/lTA. notes
that this preliminary overview the sequence events that occurred Benghazi and that the
timeline may change additional information the incident comes light. All times are recorded

Tuesday, September 11: 1549 hrs, DSCC was notified that U.S. Mission Benghazi was under attack. 1600 hrs, DSCC
was notified Regional Security Officer(RSO) Benghazi that armed individuals had entered the
compound, and 1614 hrs RSO Benghazi reported that armed group had set fire
buildings inside the COfT!pound. The Ambassador was visiting post from Tripoli, and
1614 hrs was suspected that one the buildings that had been set fire was the building
where the Ambassador was sheltering.
Ouick Reaction Force (QRF) responded from
their off-compound Annex, but was turned back due heavy hostile fire 1700 hrs,O
QRF and host nation militia (17 February Brigade) have redeployed the
compound. One Assistant RSO (ARSO) suffered injuries from smoke inhalation. This agent was the Principal Officers Residence with U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and Information
Program Officer (IPO) Sean Smith. All three moved the safe haven when the attack began,
but had relocate the roof the building caught fire. The agent reached the rooftop
but lost contact with the other two. The agent reentere the residence and found the IPO
killed action (KIA), and was unable locate the Ambassador. The agent had given his cell
phone the Ambassador. 1720 hrs, reported DSCC that all five RSO staff are accounted for and route the
