Hillary Clinton Gearing Up for 2008 Presidential Bid
According to multiple news report, New York Senator Hillary Clinton is gearing up for the 2008 presidential bid, soliciting support from Democratic leadership and looking for potential campaign staff.
Clinton has been holding secret meetings with high level New York Democratic leadership, supposedly garnering support for her anticipated run for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination. While no one is speaking in absolutes, one New York Democrat said that it’s “pretty clear” that Hillary will seek the nomination and multiple sources have confirmed that the former first lady is taking the first steps toward a White House run.
In September, Former Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe suggested that he will chair Sen. Clinton’s campaign – he and Sen. Clinton are expected to raise more than $100 million in campaign funds by the Iowa caucus in January 08.
The former first lady has a long and sordid history of corruption, ranging from undisclosed campaign funds to family members brokering pardon deals with her husband, former President Bill Clinton.
In the late 1990’s Hillary was the key figure in the “Filegate” scandal, which involved the illegal removal of over 900 FBI files of the Reagan and first Bush Administration staffers, among others. She was also a figure in the “Chinagate” scandal which entailed the transfer of sensitive U.S. technology, apparently in return for millions of dollars in contributions to the Clinton-Gore campaign.
While Hillary can hold cloak and dagger meetings and run for president, but she cannot hide from her corrupt past.
