Illegal Immigrants May Take Over By 2050

The U.S. government’s failure to secure the southern border will result in a massive surge of immigrants that will triple the nation’s current Hispanic population by mid century and leave whites as minorities.

The nation’s population will soar to 438 million by 2050 and, not surprisingly, the growth will be driven primarily by illegal immigration. In fact, more than 80% of the increase will be due to immigrants and their U.S.-born anchor babies. Whites, who currently make up two-thirds of the nation’s population, will become a minority.

The alarming statistics are documented in a 49-page report recently published by a reputable nonprofit think-tank known for studying and researching national issues. Littered with informative graphs and charts, the report breaks down the predicted population increase of 117 million by stating that 67 million will be immigrants themselves and 50 million their U.S.-born kids and grandchildren.

Researchers also took into account the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants currently living in the U.S., predicting that that nearly one in five residents will be an immigrant by 2050 compared to one in eight in 2005. This will surpass the peak during the last great wave of immigration a century ago.

The report’s projections are based on documented statistics about births, deaths and immigration levels, which are the three key components of population change.
