NewsWatch: The Latest Coverage of Judicial Watch’s lawsuit against Joe Biden

Judicial Watch has gained significant media coverage this week after suing the State Department over the Biden-Ukraine prosecutor scandal. Here is some of the latest coverage of Judicial Watch’s legal battle to uncover the truth on the Biden family’s dealings in Ukraine.

1. FOX News: Judicial Watch sues State Department for info on Bidens’ dealings in Ukraine

The transparency group Judicial Watch announced Thursday it had filed a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit against the State Department, seeking more information about Joe Biden’s boast that he pressured Ukraine to fire its top prosecutor.

The litigation came a day after President Trump, seeking to turn the tables against Democrats as they pursue an impeachment inquiry, highlighted what he called Biden’s own possible misconduct while in office.

“The latest assault on President Trump is an obvious attempt to protect Joe Biden from the corruption scandals involving his son,” Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton said in a statement. “Judicial Watch’s latest lawsuit will be the first of many to try to get to the bottom of this influence-peddling scandal.”

2. The Epoch Times: Judicial Watch Sues for Documents on Biden Forcing Firing of Ukraine Prosecutor

WASHINGTON—Judicial Watch announced Sept. 26 that it has filed suit in federal court seeking to force the State Department to release all official U.S. government documents related to the firing of a Ukrainian prosecutor, as demanded by former Vice President Joe Biden.

The nonprofit government watchdog’s suit was in response to the government’s failure to respond to a May 7 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for:

  • Any and all records regarding, concerning, or related to Viktor Shokin’s investigation of Mykola Zolchevsky, and Shokin’s resignation at Ukraine’s Prosecutor General.
  • Any and all records of communication between any official, employee, or representative of the Department of State and any official, employee, or representative of the Office of the Vice President regarding Shokin.

“Judicial Watch has filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit for records about the firing of Ukraine’s top prosecutor after then-Vice President Joe Biden threated to withhold aid. The lawsuit was filed Wednesday against the U.S. Department of State (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of State(No. 1:19-cv-02893)).”
