Obama’s Rev. Says “Them Jews” Keeping Him Away

Barack Obama’s controversial longtime pastor and presidential campaign advisor publicly blasted “Them Jews” for not allowing him to speak to the commander-in-chief—who he considers a son—since the election.  

Well known for the racially divisive, anti-American sermons that got him nixed from a crucial presidential campaign advisory body, Reverend Jeremiah Wright married the Obamas, baptized their two daughters and has long served as Obama’s spiritual guru. 

But the former Illinois senator distanced himself from the fiery reverend after the media exposed his inflammatory sermons as the longtime leader of the Trinity United Church of Christ on Chicago’s south side. In them Wright blames the U.S. for causing the 2001 terrorist attacks, damns America for treating blacks less than human and accuses the government of giving blacks drugs. 

During the 2008 presidential campaign Wright delivered yet another incendiary sermon featuring crude references about race and sex in the White House when he said Obama might be the “first president in the history of the United States to have a black woman sleeping at 16000 Pennsylvania legally.” 

This week at a minister’s conference in Virginia, Wright blamed Jews for keeping him away from the president. "Them Jews ain’t going to let him talk to me," Wright told a local newspaper. "I told my baby daughter that he’ll talk to me in five years when he’s a lame duck or in eight years when he’s out of office…”

The pastor added that Obama didn’t send a U.S. delegation to the World Conference on Racism, held recently in Switzerland, because he feared offending Jews, specifically a powerful pro-Israel lobbying group called the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. 

Despite the criticism, the loyal reverend said he voted for Obama because “he’s my son. I’m proud of him.” Adding that Obama has made mistakes and bad choices, Wright said that his five biological kids have all made mistakes and he hasn’t stopped loving any of them.
