Taxpayer Cost for Obama’s Travel During His Two Terms in Office Tops $100 Million

Taxpayers doled out more than $100 million for former President Barack Obama and his family to travel during his eight years in the White House.

The right-leaning Judicial Watch revealed Thursday that the total for lodging, airfare, Secret Service, and transportation during the Obamas’ trips reached a whopping $105,662,975.27.

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton called the enormous total “troubling”:

“It is troubling to see such massive amounts of money paid out for trips that appear to have minimal value to the public interest. And it is frustrating to have file multiple FOIA lawsuits and engage in long-running court battles to get basic information about the costs of presidential travel.”
