Terrorism Charge For Guarding U.S. Border

Comparing civilian groups that help guard the U.S.-Mexico border to the Ku Klux Klan, an Arizona lawmaker has introduced a bill that would charge them with domestic terrorism and send them to jail.

The proposed legislation would revise Arizona statutes on organized crime and fraud to include individuals and groups, such as the Minutemen Project, that patrol in search of illegal activity and are not formally affiliated with a law enforcement agency.

Authored by Democratic Representative Kyrsten Sinema, the bill says that an individual or group of individuals commits domestic terrorism if the individual or group of individuals are not affiliated with a local, state or federal law enforcement entity and associate with another individual or group of individuals as an organization, group, corporation or company for the purpose of patrolling to detect alleged illegal activity or to individually patrol for the purpose of detecting alleged illegal activity and if the individual or group of individuals is armed with a firearm or other weapon.

Sinema, a former Green Party member and social worker, has voted against every measure proposed in the state legislature to fight illegal immigration. Earlier this month she introduced an equally absurd bill to exclude illegal Mexican border jumpers from being prosecuted under a 2005 anti-smuggling law that charges smugglers – coyotes – as well as the illegal aliens who pay them as co-conspirators.

So far, that bill hasn’t passed but Sinema continues battling on behalf of illegal immigrants. One popular news magazine accuses her of working with Mexican drug dealers and coyotes and against U.S. citizens attempting to protect their properties and families form the illegal hordes, which include drug dealers. “What Sinema is effectively saying is that she supports illegal immigrants over legal U.S. citizens.”

Playing the race card by comparing the Minutemen, a peaceful citizens’ group, to the Ku Klux Klan is shameful and one columnist writes that this law is aimed at anyone who dares to oppose illegal immigration since those who think America is a sovereign nation with a duty to defend its borders must be racist.
