The Obama Administration’s Newly Political Approach to FOIAs

Despite promising to be the most transparent administration ever, the Obama administration has complicated the FOIA process, making it more difficult for journalists to get information from the government. One way they have done so is the use of the “sensitive review process,” in which political appointees review requested documents for release, in addition to release-of-information professionals.
