The DOJ is currently cracking down on sanctuary cities. Meanwhile, Judicial Watch’s work reveals that amnesty increases illegal immigration and undermines the rule of law. Based on a 2013 lawsuit, we discovered that the Obama administration abandoned required background checks, adopting, instead, costly “lean and lite” procedures in effort to keep up with the flood of amnesty applications spurred by the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) directive, which grants illegal aliens a two-year deferment from deportation.
