Judicial Watch v. Social Security Administration (No. 06-2034) – “no match” letter statistics

Last Updated: December 15, 2011

Synopsis

On June 6, 2006, Judicial Watch filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request with the Social Security Administration (SSA) for statistical data regarding “No Match” letters sent to employers when new employee information is sent to the SSA. In a response letter dated June 29, 2006, the SSA refused to provide any such documentation on the grounds that the requested documents were considered “tax return information.”
