The Capitol Hill Riot Videos

“The impeachment managers … who were trying to abuse President Trump in the Senate use these videos for their own political devices. They manipulated them, they added audio that wasn’t present, yet we the American people can’t see them? I don’t think so.”

Judicial Watch is fighting to get important email records and video footage surrounding the events of January 6. As Judicial Watch President Fitton explained recently, Judicial Watch has “filed an open records lawsuit against the Capitol Police,” has “FOIAs [Freedom of Information Act] on the outside agencies,” and is seeking “email communications of the Capitol Police Board with the Federal Investigation Bureau, the Department of Justice, and the Department of Homeland Security concerning the security of the Capitol on January 6, 2021.” With many raising concerns about the lack of adequate security measures at the Capitol, Judicial Watch wants to know exactly what was going on. “What intelligence were they [the Capitol Police] getting? The FBI supposedly knew what was up, did they tell the Capitol Police?

The public has a right to know about how Congress handled the security and what the videos show of the Capitol Hill riot,” Fitton argued Friday. House and Senate leadership, namely House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer hold the keys to the information, he continued.

“In my experience, when they don’t want to turn over information that easily can be turned over, it means they have something to hide.” Furthermore, “based on what happened there [January 6], they tried to impeach a president, but we can’t see the documentary evidence about what happened?” Judicial Watch is working hard to ensure the American people get answers on the many questions surrounding the January 6 Capitol Hill riot. As Fitton concluded, “we’re coming in, we’re doing the heavy lifting here to get information out about this breach, this disturbance that is being used to justify the targeting of 75 million Americans.”
