IRS Did Not Willfully Destroy or Hide Lerner Emails, Watchdog Finds

The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) recently concluded that there is no evidence that the IRS intentionally attempted to destroy Lois Lerner’s emails, but this doesn’t mean the IRS is off the hook. Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton stated, “Koskinen did testify falsely that email records were not on backup tapes and not retrievable, and this report confirms that he made the decision to withhold information from Congress.”
