Judicial Watch: Federal Court Hearing on June 6 Ordered for Emails between Peter Kadzik, John Podesta, and Clinton Campaign Officials

Judicial Watch also seeks Kadzik emails with non-government employees concerning Clinton use of non-state.gov email

Federal Judge previously placed an order of preservation on all Kadzik emails

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch today announced that Judge Dabney L. Friedrich of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia has ordered a hearing for June 6, 2018, regarding the personal email correspondence of Assistant Attorney General for Legislative Affairs Peter Kadzik with former Clinton presidential campaign chairman John Podesta, Clinton campaign officials, and others (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Justice (No. 1:17-cv-00029)).

The court order came in response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch against the U.S. Department of Justice on January 15, 2017 after it failed to respond to a November 7, 2017 FOIA request seeking:

All email correspondence between Peter Kadzik on either his official Justice Department email account [email protected] and any non-government employee concerning, regarding, or relating to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s use of non-state.gov email to conduct official government business;

All email correspondence between Peter Kadzik on either his official Justice Department email account or [email protected] and John Podesta; and

All email correspondence between Peter Kadzik on either his official Justice Department email account or [email protected] and any official, officer, or employee of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s presidential campaign.

The timeframe for this request is December 1, 2014 to November 7, 2016.

Previously, Judge Sullivan issued an order on January 17, 2017, requiring the Justice Department to “preserve all agency records and potential agency records between the dates of December 1, 2014 and November 7, 2016 in any personal email account of Assistant Attorney General for Legislative Affairs Peter Kadzik.”

The court hearing is scheduled for:

Date:               Wednesday, June 6, 2018

Time:               10 a.m.

Location:        Courtroom 12

                           U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia

     333 Constitution Ave NW
