Judicial Watch v. Bureau of Land Management (No. 07-1570)

Last Updated: December 15, 2011

Synopsis

Judicial Watch filed a complaint with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to force the release of records regarding communications between the BLM, Senator Harry Reid, John Ensign and Jim Gibbons regarding Coyote Springs Investment in Nevada. After 6 months of stonewalling, within 2 weeks after filing the lawsuit, BLM produced the documents. However, the government refused to pay attorney’s fees, even after the trial court found in Judicial Watch’s favor and the case regarding the payment of fees was appealed to the U.S. Appeals Court for the District of Columbia Circuit.
