The APA changed the definition a while back. These days the ASPD is just a psychopath who has yet to murder one or more human beings. That point aside the ASPD is just as dangerous.

For the person with ASPD the world is all about them. They are extremely self-centered, intelligent, power hungry, controlling, and they are not limited by the boundaries of a conscience because they do not have one. They are born without a key gene that allows the Id – Ego – and Super Ego to properly develop and that is why they never ‘grow’ a normal conscience and never can. Without the limits that a conscience brings they are free to venture into the dark side at will, and they have a very powerful, self-centered will, to wreak havoc among other human beings.

Combine the ASPD’s unlimited drive for self-satisfaction and power with their above average intelligence and lack of self-limiting boundaries one ends up with the ‘perfect storm’ of a dangerous and powerful human being bent on a quest to satisfy an ego that can never be satisfied. It is a Catch 22 situation that often results in what we call a ‘modern day politician’ and Washington D.C. is full of them.

It is the ASPD type that often ends up murdering a beautiful woman simply because she attempts to escape his control. There are countless examples in our media archives going as far back as records have been kept. Anne Marie Fahey is the classic example of a young, beautiful, and naive female who died at the hands of an obsessed Tom Capano, the classic example of an ASPD.

For the ASPD type the appeal of politics is almost irresistible. To become a powerful person in D.C. is the fulfillment of a lifetime that in its essence is sad and lonely because it can never be normal and fulfilling in the truest sense of a normal human being. Still, it is the best that an ASPD type can do, and even if it is never going to be enough, have no fear as they will always keep trying. They are driven to chase that dream most of us call happiness until the day they die. At the end of the day there can never be enough money, power, or glory to fill their genetically defective soul and they will die sad and lonely never have experiencing true happiness. Still, along the way, they will abuse and destroy others who are sacrificed in their quest for something they will never have. You and I, the taxpayers, are ‘the others’.
Be very careful who you vote for.

BTW – there are female ASPD types too. I know because my niece is one of them. Five children by the age of 22 and one of those was born in prison.
