Desperate Congresswoman Cries Racism

The so-called race defense has been used by law-breaking Hall of Fame football stars, various Hollywood celebrities and numerous politicians so why not a sitting congresswoman notorious for racial politics?

Since violently assaulting a U.S. Capitol Police officer simply because he asked her (three times) to walk though the metal detector she had bypassed, Georgia Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney has indeed whipped out the race card, accusing the officer of stopping her because she is a black female. Never mind that she was not wearing the special pin that identifies the 435 House members and that she recently had a major hair overhaul that drastically changed her appearance.

The attack and subsequent race defense have shed a disgraceful light on McKinney and led other black leaders to chastise the ever-so-popular race defense. Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, a nationally known conservative black leader, said this is an example of black liberal Democrats using allegations of racism in order to get away with breaking the law.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution blasted McKinney’s embarrassing confrontation in an editorial that said she has demonstrated that, while she may have changed her trademark hairstyle, her personal style remains as offensive as ever. The strongly worded editorial goes on to encourage McKinney’s constituents to vote her out of office.

Most political blogs have also denounced McKinney’s actions with one, The Big Pharaoh, sending her a colorblind message: You struck the officer after he asked you to stop 3 times, you’re in deep trouble. These simple laws will work if you’re white, black, yellow, or purple.

Not surprisingly, McKinney has failed to mention another violation that she can’t possibly attribute to racism. The congresswoman recently broke government rules by spending taxpayer money earmarked for office supplies to fly a singer, Isaac Hayes, to Atlanta for the dedication of a new office.

Regardless of McKinney’s accusations, the Capitol Police has widespread support on the Hill and to prove it, lawmakers introduced a resolution to commend the 1,700 officers’ hard work of maintaining security around the Capitol as well as their constant display of courtesy and professionalism.

Editor’s Note: Yesterday, Cnythia McKinney was interviewed by CNN’s Wolf Blitzer. The blog Expose the Left has the full video available for online viewing. Viewers should be able to decide easily whether or not McKinney responded to every question either by blaming others or twisting her altercation into a racial issue.
